VBD vs STB

Well I was looking forward to this match due to the praise I had been hearing about STB and after playing the clan war I had to agree, they are a great bunch of guys, it was hassle free and a pleasure.

The randomiser threw up 3 warfares and the worst tdm so after some negotiation we had a much more attractive line up of maps.

This game started off a little messy with lots of running after the opposition rather than towards their base, well from me at least. After a couple of failed attempts we, VBD, managed to cap the flag. At this point we thought it was going to be a walk over, no offence meant, but we were wrong.

Omegacell ended my spree when i had the flag leaving them to score, since none of us new where our flag was or were near enough to get theirs. At 1-1 i got a little worried so Bobbah took up the defence and we took on a more structured approach.

After a couple more caps from us the scores were 3-1 and looking to be a over when bobbah d/c'd leaving us 3 on 4, not the best situation on ctf, especially against a clan who seemed to be well organised. We did however manage to cap the flag again before bobbah rejoined just in time to see us cap the last flag.

This map started badly as well, both duelblades and bobbah having mic problems but luckily it has less impact on tdm's than other modes.
After the first minute STB were leading, the scores being roughly 9-7. They seemed to be adopting the tactic of trying to hold the middle whereas it appeared to me that VBD were just running around like headless chickens.

This tactic, or lack of them, paid off and we quickly found our rhythm taking a comfortable 30-20 lead. At this point Lacertus d/c'd and STB were forced to finish the game with 3 players, once again it was rather unlucky but had less impact than it would've in any other mode.

With everyone in VBD going on some kind of spree the lead quickly grew into an unnassailable one. Now i'm not entirley sure but it seemed to me that nearly every spree was ended by Omegacell, I for one didn't enjoy it when half my death messages appeared as 'Killed by Omegacell', altough some of his kills were stunning.

This map started with much better organisation from us, however we were still finding it hard to break them down. There seemed to be an added worry to that of Omegacell and that was The_Raze who seemed to appear from nowhere to kill you when you had the flag. This was not enough to stop us from taking the lead and after the first cap i decided to stay back and defend, giving Bobbah the chance to attack for a change.

Their wasn't much to say about the rest of the game, it was constantly to and thro with both flags being taken on several occasions every one of which resulted in us capping the flag. The game ended with only a few minutes to go and after a hard fought match we felt a little lucky to come through it with a comfortable lead.

MVP JiminiCricket, yes again, I would've given it to someone else but i seemed to get so many more points than them.

Overall I just have to say that these guys have alot of potential, they work well together and have some good killers, Omegacell, and are ones to look out for in the future. It was a pleasure and we look forward to playing you guys again, and maybe next time the scoreline won't be so flattering on us.
